Campus Notice: The university will implement a new policy requiring all students to purchase a meal plan for the upcoming semester. The plan includes 10 meals per week at campus dining halls. University officials believe this will ensure students have regular, healthy meals and reduce food waste. The policy will apply to all undergraduate students living in on-campus housing, starting next semester.

Woman: Did you see the new meal plan requirement? I can't believe they're forcing us to buy it. Man: Yeah, but maybe it's not so bad. It guarantees you eat regularly, right? Woman: I totally disagree. First, I cook most of my meals at home or buy groceries, so I'd waste money on meals I won't use. Plus, the dining hall food is often unhealthy—lots of fried stuff. Second, the plan is too expensive, and many students, like me, already struggle with tuition. It's just another financial burden. Man: I see your point. But they say it reduces food waste. Woman: That's just an excuse. The real issue is forcing students to pay for something they don't need. It should be optional.
