TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Campus Notice: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours on weekdays from 10 PM to midnight. This change aims to provide more study time for students, especially during exam periods. Additional staff will be hired to manage the extended hours, and a small fee of $5 per semester will be added to student fees to cover costs.

Woman: Did you see the email about the library hours? I think it's a great idea. I often have to leave at 10 PM when I'm in the middle of studying. Midnight closing would really help me finish my work without rushing. Also, paying five dollars a semester is nothing compared to the benefit of extra quiet study time. I don't have a good study space in my dorm, so this is perfect for me. Man: I see your point, but I'm not so sure. I mean, most students don't even use the library after 10 PM. Why should everyone pay for a few night owls? Plus, I heard the library is already understaffed. Hiring more people might mean cutting other services, like workshops. That doesn't seem fair for those who don't use the late hours.
