This change is intended to reduce operating costs and encourage students to use the library for evening study. The university also plans to introduce a new late-night snack vending machine in the library lobby.

Student A: Did you see the notice about the coffee shop closing earlier? That's terrible! I always grab a coffee there before my evening study sessions in the library. Student B: I know, but the university says it's to save money and promote library use. Student A: That doesn't make sense! The library is quiet and doesn't allow food or drinks, so I can't even bring a coffee in. Plus, the new vending machine only has snacks, not decent coffee. I'll have to go off-campus if I want a caffeine boost, which is inconvenient and expensive. Student B: Yeah, and what about students who have evening classes or work on campus until late? They'll have no options for a warm drink. The cost savings aren't worth losing a place to relax and refuel.
