Campus Announcement: New Library Hours Starting next semester, the university library will extend its hours to 24/7 during finals week. The university believes these changes will better accommodate students' study needs during peak exam periods.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's great! W: Really? I'm not so sure. Extending hours during finals week is helpful, but the quiet floor might not be enough. M: Why not? More quiet space is always good. W: Well, the third floor is already quiet, but the new carrels are tiny. I prefer spreading out my books and notes. Plus, 24/7 hours mean more noise from people coming and going at night, which could disturb those trying to study. M: I see your point, but I think the extended hours will reduce crowding, and the carrels are fine for focused work. The real issue is that most students study in groups, so a quiet floor might not be used much. W: Exactly! That's my second reason. The library needs more group study rooms, not more individual carrels. The demand for group spaces is much higher.
