Additional security staff will be on duty overnight, and coffee machines will be available in the lobby. Students are reminded to carry their ID cards for access after 10 p.m.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library staying open 24/7 during finals? I think it's a great idea. W: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, more hours might help some, but it could also make it harder to find quiet spots during the day if everyone just comes later. M: But that's exactly the point—spreading out study times means less crowding. I have a part-time job in the afternoons, so I can only study at night. This gives me a real chance to use the library. W: I see your point, but I'm worried about safety. Even with extra security, I wouldn't feel comfortable walking home at 3 a.m. M: That's why they added security and the coffee machines. But for me, the biggest benefit is flexibility. I can work in the library after my shift, and I don't have to rush to leave at midnight. W: Fair enough. I guess it depends on your schedule.
