Campus Announcement: Extended Library Hours During Finals Week

Two students, a man and a woman, are discussing the announcement. The woman strongly supports the extended hours, while the man has concerns. Woman: Did you see the library announcement? Finally, 24/7 access during finals! I'm thrilled. Last semester, I had to leave at midnight when I was in the middle of a heavy study session. This will really help me manage my schedule. Man: I get the benefit, but I'm worried about the cost. Keeping the library open all night means more staff and utilities. The university might cut funding elsewhere, like student activities or sports. Also, I heard that the new quiet zone on the third floor will take over the group study area. That's where my study group meets. We'll have to find another space, which is inconvenient. Woman: But don't you think the quiet zone is a great idea? It will actually help you concentrate better for your exams. And the extended hours are worth the investment—it shows the university cares about our academic success. Man: I see your point, but I still think there are better ways to allocate resources.
