TOEFL 말하기 Task 2

Campus Announcement: The university will extend the library hours to 24/7 during final exam week, starting next Monday. This change is intended to provide students with more flexible study spaces during the high-stress period. However, to ensure safety and reduce noise, students will be required to show their student ID at the entrance after 10 PM, and only currently enrolled students will be allowed access. Additionally, the second and third floors will be designated as quiet zones, while the first floor will remain a collaborative area.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library being open all night during finals? I think it's a great idea, but I'm not sure about the ID check after 10 PM. What do you think?\nW: Honestly, I'm not thrilled about it. I mean, extending hours is nice, but the ID requirement is a real hassle. I often study with friends from other universities who are in town, and they sometimes use the library resources with me. Now they'd be locked out, which would really limit our study groups.\nM: That makes sense, but I think the ID check is for safety. With the library empty at night, they want to make sure only students are around.\nW: I get that, but there are other ways to ensure safety, like having more security guards. Also, the quiet zones on the second and third floors are too restrictive. Sometimes I need to discuss a problem with a classmate, and being forced to stay on the first floor, which can get noisy, isn't ideal. It feels like they're prioritizing rules over student needs.
