The university will implement a new policy requiring all students to purchase a meal plan, effective next semester. The plan offers a fixed number of meals per week at the campus dining halls. Officials believe this will promote healthier eating habits and increase campus community engagement. Students who live off-campus or have dietary restrictions may apply for an exemption, but they must provide documented proof.

Woman: Did you see the email about the mandatory meal plan? I think it's a terrible idea. I live off-campus and hardly ever eat on campus. Why should I have to pay for meals I won't use? It's a waste of money, especially since I already cook at home to save costs. Man: I get that, but they say it's about building community. Maybe eating together more often would help students feel connected. Woman: That's a weak reason. Forcing people to buy meals won't make them friends. Also, what about students with food allergies like me? The exemption process is a hassle, and even with proof, it might not be approved. It's unfair to impose extra costs and bureaucracy on us.
