TOEFL Устная речь Task 2

Campus Announcement: Extended Library Hours During Finals Week Starting Monday, December 10th, the university library will extend its hours to 24/7 operation through the end of finals week (December 21st). This change aims to provide students with more flexible study time. However, to ensure safety and reduce noise, the library will require student ID card access after 10 PM, and quiet study floors will be strictly enforced. The extension will also increase the library's operating costs, which will be covered by a small increase in student activity fees next semester.

W: Did you see the email about the library staying open all night during finals? I think it's a great idea—I always end up pulling all-nighters before exams, and having a quiet place to study is so helpful. M: I see the benefit, but I'm not thrilled about the fee increase. I already pay enough in fees, and I rarely use the library after 10 PM. Why should everyone have to pay for a service only a few students use? W: But think about it—during finals, almost everyone uses it. Plus, the 24-hour access isn't just for night owls; it helps students with different schedules, like those with part-time jobs. I think it's worth the extra cost. M: Maybe, but I still think it's unfair. They could just keep the current hours and avoid the fee. I'd rather save my money.
