TOEFL Устная речь Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours from 10 PM to 2 AM on weekdays. This change aims to accommodate students who prefer studying late at night. Additional funding will be allocated to hire more student assistants and ensure adequate lighting and security during extended hours. The new schedule will be implemented after a trial period of one month.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library extending hours? I think it's a great idea. I'm a night owl, and the current 10 PM closing is way too early for me. I often have to leave when I'm in the middle of a study session. W: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, I get your point, but I'm worried about the safety part. Walking back to the dorms at 2 AM alone feels risky. M: That's true, but they said they're increasing security. Also, I think it'll help students who work part-time during the day. I know many who can only study in the late evening. W: I suppose that's a good point. But I still think most students won't use it, and it might waste resources. M: Actually, I talked to several friends, and they all said they'd use it at least a few nights a week. Plus, having more student assistant jobs is a plus. W: Okay, I hadn't considered that. Maybe it's not so bad after all. But I'd still prefer they invest in more study spaces rather than just longer hours.
