TOEFL Speaking Task 2

The university has announced that starting next semester, the campus library will extend its weekday hours to 2 a.m., from the current midnight closing time. This change aims to accommodate students who prefer late-night studying. Additionally, the library will introduce a new online booking system for group study rooms to reduce conflicts and improve efficiency.

Woman: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great idea! I often stay late for my projects, and midnight is too early. Now I can actually get more work done without rushing. Man: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, the extra hours are nice, but who will be there to supervise? They'll need more staff, which costs money. Woman: But they're also adding the online booking system. That will save time and reduce issues with room reservations, so they can use the saved money for staff. Man: I still think it's unnecessary. Most students don't study that late, and it might just encourage procrastination. Woman: But many of us have part-time jobs and can only study at night. Plus, with the booking system, we can plan better. I really support this change.
