Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 2 a.m. on weekdays and open at noon on weekends. M: Did you see the announcement about the library hours? I think it's a great idea. W: Really? I'm not so sure. I mean, extending hours to 2 a.m. sounds nice, but I worry about the cost. They'll need more staff and security, which could mean higher fees or cuts elsewhere. M: But they said they're adding more study carrels too. That shows they're addressing the real need for quiet space. Plus, many of us have part-time jobs during the day, so late hours help us catch up at night. W: I see your point, but weekends at noon? Most students prefer to sleep in on weekends, and the library is already empty then. I think they should focus on weekdays only and maybe open earlier in the morning instead. M: Well, I still support it because it gives us flexibility. And with more carrels, I won't have to fight for a spot during finals week.
