TOEFL Speaking Task 2

Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 24/7 during finals week only. Students can access all floors, but food and drinks will be prohibited in the library at all times. The change aims to reduce noise and distractions, and to provide a better study environment for students preparing for exams.

Woman: Did you see the announcement about the library? I'm not happy about it. Man: Really? I think the 24/7 hours during finals are great. I often pull all-nighters then. Woman: Sure, but banning food and drinks? That's too strict. I always bring coffee and snacks to stay focused. Without them, I can't study for long hours. Man: I get that, but people spill things and leave trash, which is annoying. Cleaner space is better. Woman: But the real problem is noise, not food. People talking and playing videos are way more distracting. They should enforce quiet rules instead. Man: Maybe, but at least the extra hours help. Woman: Still, I think it's the wrong approach. If they want a better study space, they should have quiet zones and allow snacks in designated areas.
