TOEFL 말하기 Task 2

Campus Announcement: Starting next semester, the university will extend library hours to 2 a.m. on weekdays during finals week. Additionally, a new quiet study floor will be added to reduce noise distractions. The university believes these changes will better support students' academic success during high-pressure periods.

M: Did you see the announcement about the library? I think it's a great move. W: Really? I'm not so sure. Extending hours until 2 a.m. sounds nice, but most students are too tired by then to study effectively. Plus, the extra hours mean higher utility costs. M: But don't forget, many students are night owls. I know plenty who pull all-nighters. The quiet floor is the real win for me—I can't concentrate with people whispering or typing loudly. W: I get that, but I think a better solution would be more group study rooms. A quiet floor might just make it harder to find a spot, since everyone will flock there. M: Still, it's better than nothing. I'd definitely use the quiet floor, and I'll stay late during finals if I need to. W: Well, I guess we'll see. I just worry the university is spending money on things that don't address the real issues, like lack of seating overall.
