Announcement: Starting next semester, the university library will extend its hours to 24/5 (Sunday through Thursday nights) to accommodate late-night study. To fund this, the library will reduce its weekend hours (Saturday and Sunday afternoons) from 2 PM to 6 PM. The administration believes this change will better serve students' needs.

M: Did you see the library announcement? I'm really not happy about it. W: Really? I thought the 24/5 schedule was a great idea—we often pull all-nighters for exams. M: But they're cutting weekend hours! On Saturdays and Sundays, many of us work on group projects or use the quiet study areas. I have a part-time job on weekdays, so weekends are my only time to do serious research. W: I see your point, but I think late-night access helps more students, especially those with jobs like you—you could come after work. M: But my job ends at 10 PM; I'm too tired to study then. Weekend afternoons are my prime time. Plus, the library is always crowded on weekend afternoons, so cutting those hours will cause long waits.
